It's Time for a Change
because you have the potential to make a greater impact.
Use this area to tell your story. Talk about your failure when you first started looking for a solution. Maybe there was a conspiracy against you, a false belief, a misunderstanding.
Since becoming an occupational therapist in 2013, I've worked with children - first in clinics before finding my way to schools.
Even with my training and experience, I was not prepared for school-based therapy!
Navigating an educational model instead of a medical model opened my eyes to an entirely new approach. I had to rethink how I collaborated, embedded supports into everyday routines, and how meaningful participation was the heart of it all.
I saw students craving to have their needs understood. I realized that, all too often, the student's struggles overshadowed their strengths.
But, as I worked with new teams, new expectations, and new challenges, I also discovered new opportunities.
I found opportunities to contribute to inclusive environments, equipping adults with the tools to help students participate fully, and supporting students in real-life, everyday moments.
I want every child to feel like they belong. To access their strengths and have the tools they need for truly meaningful participation.
That's why I started Jennifer Huff LLC.
To extend beyond the walls of my school buildings and help other school-based OT practitioners who want the same thing: to help children thrive through inclusion and everyday participation - while avoiding burnout and enjoying the job more!
Through online resources, courses, and mentorship, I'm here to equip you with practical strategies that help you and your students engage more meaningfully in the spaces where they live, learn, and belong.
